Publisher Platform Web App

As a Product Designer at Nexta.io, I was entrusted with a significant project for JP-POL, one of the largest media publishers in Denmark. Our task was to create a custom web app environment enabling JP-POL to sell digital channels such as Facebook, Google, and banner space on their website. Stakeholders in this project included Nexta.io, JP-POL, Adnami for digital banner technology, and Xandr for the technology behind user targeting on digital banners.

Process

Briefing & Initial Design

Upon joining Nexta, I was immediately briefed on the project specifications. My initial task was to translate these into comprehensive wireframes, user flows and a working prototype, laying the groundwork for the project. The design needed to be intuitive, user-friendly, and optimized for selling digital spaces.

Workshop & Feedback Integration

A crucial part of the design process was a two-day workshop with representatives from JP-POL. This collaborative session allowed us to discuss the wireframes and prototype, gathering essential insights and feedback. This collaborative approach helped ensure alignment with JP-POL's expectations.

After the workshop, I integrated the feedback into the wireframes, refining the design according to the discussions. These updated wireframes were then transformed into high-fidelity prototypes, further capturing the look and feel of the final product.

Iteration & Final Design

A second round of feedback led to further iterations, fine-tuning the design to meet the precise needs of the client. Once the design was finalized, I coordinated with our team of developers, assigning tasks for the development phase. Throughout this stage, I maintained a keen eye on the quality of the output, ensuring that the final product aligned with the design vision and client's requirements.

Quality Assurance & Ongoing Feedback

Post-development, my role also included managing the quality assurance process, making certain the application functioned as expected and met JP-POL's standards. As we moved forward, I continued to receive feedback from the client, which was integrated into the product in a continuous improvement loop.

Conclusion

The development of JP-POL's publisher platform was a journey that underlined the importance of thorough understanding, consistent collaboration, and iterative design. The platform has enabled JP-POL to efficiently manage and sell their digital spaces, streamlining their operations and improving their market presence. The project highlighted the value of feedback at every stage, ensuring the design met the exact needs of the client, and solidifying the product's success in its marketplace.
